Along with exam preparation we are career counselors. We are able to locate positions onboard vessels including, oilfield support vessels, {crew, supply & utility}, seismographic boats, dive boats, research vessels, and some offshore tugs. These vessels are usually less than 180 ft. in length, and under 1600 Gross Tons. Most of the positions we have to offer are located in Louisiana, with companies servicing the oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. We can also offer positions on the East and West Coast, as well as the Caribbean.
Our main goal with former Military personnel is to assist you in getting US Coast Guard documents. We can utilize a percentage of the seatime obtained while in service, along with exam preparation, assist the candidate in getting documented. Most of the time the most cost-effective way to cross over into civilian maritime is to evaluate into a "nearly" entry level position. The process takes much less time and the requirements are minimal. Once documented we can usually obtain employment for the qualified candidate with a company offering upgrade programs.
We generally crew for companies offering career minded individuals excellent benefits. These benefits include, health and dental insurance, 401-K retirement, profit sharing, and upgrade programs. The upgrade programs are perhaps the most valuable of the benefits. It is through upgrade the Mariner is able to excel in his/her career and pay.
An entry level Able-bodied Seaman {A/B}, or Qualified Member of the Engine Department
{QMED} can expect to earn nearly $36,000.00 in the first 12 months! This is truly only the
beginning rate of pay!
In addition to the documents required, on the first day of class, the candidate must have the

5) $10.00 fee for 2 passport photos
6) $85.00 Department of Transportation Drug Screen & Physical
7) $29.00 Text book usage fee
TOTAL-- $999.00
The candidate's tuition insures the candidate's place in class, necessary materials for exam prep, and appointments to be made with the US Coast Guard REC in New Orleans. For a nominal fee transportation can be provided to New Orleans from the school. All candidates must be prepared to pay their tuition and all other fees in full on the first day of class.
